My blog post today is a book that has been added to my bookshelf that helps me learn more ways of being healthy and I wanted to share it with you guys because of how it has helped me recently walk down my new year healthy path.
We are always trying to find ways to become healthy. I have tried working out, drinking more tea, eating healthier, etc. But, what I realized after many healthy books, is that consistency is the key in being healthy. You have to be consistent in working out and eating healthy. Your food controls your energy, the way you feel, and how healthy you are. I recently became ill and I had to turn towards healthy oils and teas to get well. I couldn’t workout to sweat the illness away but whatever I ate could have made the experience worse or better. Think about when you are sick... Don’t you eat the right foods to make yourself well again? That is how your everyday meals should be. You should always eat the right foods, so that you can always be well. Fitness is super important but so is what you put inside your body.
I recently read a book where it discussed how your food can have an impact on who you are. In nine chapters, I learned that your food has a big impact on your body, there is a jumpstart plan, and there are certain foods that could help you become healthier. You Are What You Eat By Gillian McKeith is a book that everyone should have on their bookshelves. There are always so many questions and ideas I would want to know before I start getting healthy but this book managed to answer all of my questions and gave me new information.
The Plan That Will Change Your Life is the tagline of the book for a reason. Her words changed my outlook on being healthy and I am sure they will do the same for you. There is so many different foods that are delicious but also healthy. You can snack on carrots, broccoli, popcorn, almonds, or pretzels. You can have a scoop of ranch with some of them and it won’t be so harsh on your body. I was given many different ideas on what is the best thing to eat and be healthy without going bored. McKeith even gave a seven day plan to get started with.
I always need motivation to stay consistent but this book made me realize that everything takes time and that there are steps to everything. The book started off telling the reader what does calories look like depending on what you eat. Of course, we all like the food that is bad for us but what about exchanging more healthy food for less calories and better quantity? This book brought a theme of quality over quantity. You can learn a plan to being healthy, the healthy foods and what they bring to your life and a way to enjoy healthy food to the point where you will be surprised that you enjoyed unhealthy so much before. I want you guys to enjoy being healthy and learn fun ways to do it. Gillian McKeith, thank you for the fun side of being healthy and I think all of you will enjoy her words too!

How often do you clean your ears? Doctors always tell us to use q-tips and do it frequently because of wax build up. But I recently found out that you shouldn't use q-tips at all. I rarely used q tips and would just get my ears drained eventually lol. I always had a fear of sticking a Q-tip too far into the ear canal because it can cause a ruptured eardrum. I came across these ear cleaners and I am glad that I did because now I clean my ears weekly because of this product. Clinere are ear cleaners that basically "scoop" the ear wax of out of your ear (in the appropriate areas of your ears to clean). I know that sounds gross but hey this is my health post for the week! Ear wax can be beneficial or harmful. Ear wax is always going to be needed because it products ears from infection but too much of it can produce hearing loss and do more harm to the ears with ear wax blockage.
Clinere uses a spoon on one end to actually get the ear wax out and a bendable brush at the end to exfoliate and get the rest of the ear wax that you couldn't pick up with the flexible "spoon." I have been using these scoopers for a few months and I actually feel like I have fun with cleaning my ears and realized that you don't need to clean your ears daily but once a week is fine enough. Lol. It seems that when you have a tool that cleans and doesn't make you bored and don't have a risk of going into your ear canal. Why not try it out? You can see below how to use clinere and see how it gets the ear wax at the right part of your ear without you risking to harm to ear or ear canal. It does not go into the ear canal but grabs wax closes to the outside of your ear.
Ear wax protects the lining of the ear from infection. Removing wax dries out the lining of the ear, causing tiny cracks that can let bacteria inside. Considering that q-tips don't really remove most wax from the ears they push it farther inside these can be a great alternative or you can use a couple drops of olive oil.
I am learning more and more ways to take care of my body without forgetting and this has helped me realized that there are different ways to clean your ears. So even if you don't want to use these scoopers you could use a wash cloth around the ear after getting out the shower. Depending on ear wax blockage you can hydrogen peroxide to soften the ear wax or a few drops of baby oil, mineral oil, or commercial drops according to the American Academy of Otolaryngology.
You can find these cleaners at Target, Walmart, Walgreens and other drug stores. They were reasonable priced and worth it! Cleaning ears are one of the normal routines that we forget. You don't have to have use q-tips or forget to clean your ears -- with this alternative. How often do you clean your ears?

We all take showers and use either a wash cloth or a loofah. Right? We love having an extra scrub and to get all of the dirtiness off from the day. I am hear to tell you, taking a shower can either make me sleepy or wake me up depending on my mood. But one thing for sure, I love my loofah and do not know what I would do without it. I have been using loofahs for as long as I could remember. I basically used one as a baby and we have been inseperatable ever since. I wanted to write to you guys about my research on loofahs since I love them so much. I know you guys are wondering what could be so interesting about loofahs. But, what I found out I HAD TO TELL THE WORLD.
Loofahs can actually be a bad thing for you in some cases...
But... I am here to tell you that you can use loofahs as long as you:
1. Let it dry completely. Leave the bathroom open so that mositure won't cause bacteria.
2. Replace the loofah every four weeks.
3. Regularly hang the loofah outside the hot moist shower itself, on a daily basis and then occasionally microwave it for 20 seconds while damp, as they recommend for synthetic sponges.
4. You should use 5% beach to clean it.
I think we all should be thinking about whether to use a cotton washcloth, always replacing loofahs or using our hands. I recently read as well that using your hands is actually the best way to go because its not as harsh on the skin and people usually overly clean or scrub their skin when its not needed. I already change my loofah every 30 days but now I am wondering if that is even enough. I am deciding what would be the best route. What is your loofah cleaning routine?

I started taking vitamins daily starting this year. I was always trying to get on track to adding healthy habits into my daily routine. I fall off for a weeks and then come back to taking my vitamins all the time. But, I have recently haven't taken vitamins in about two weeks. I am amazed that I stayed away because it was such a good habit that I did. I am writing this post to remind all of us about the benefits of vitamins. Vitamins can help us for the future, keep us healthy and give us nutrients that we need.
Vitamins help our body grow and function on a daily basis. There are important vitamins that we always need such as vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin K and vitamin B. If you eat food that already has these vitamins in it, thats awesome. I am simply writing this post for everyone that wants to add a little more intake into their daily lives. We should take vitamins to help us on a daily basis. I think taking fish oil is great for your brain and taking a vitamin intake of vitamin C is great for your immune system. Multivitamins are a great way to get the essential vitamins that should be in your daily meal.
What vitamins do you take daily?
