I love sleeping. It is one of my favorite things about the night. My bed, my comforter and lots of pillows. What more could you ask for? I stopped taking naps when I was in undergrad because I realized how much of my day is wasting away in sleeping lol. But anyways back to the topic of changing your sheets. When I was in undergrad a few years ago, I would change my sheets every two weeks and just buy new ones instead of washing my sheets since I was a busy and lazy as a college student. I was happy when my mother would wash my clothes on breaks lets just put it that way. And some college students would only wash their sheets once a month or whenever they went home unforunately lol.
I live in an apartment with my fiance now and we used to wash our sheets every two weeks like we did in undergrad. But, recently I read an article about how much is really in your bed, sheets and pillows in general. I now wash my sheets once a week -- and I think you guys should know why!
Think about it your bed and sheets hold a lot of germs, bacteria and dust mites yuck! Human skin cells are food to dust mites that live in your bed and sheets. I think washing your sheets once a week is the way to go and having a mattress covering. Humans have pets and there could be animal hair in your sheets, bodily secretions and bacteria. Don't even mention dust, lint, fibers, particulates, insect parts, pollen, soil, sand and cosmetics.
Sometimes we get sick, eat in bed, and so much more -- all of that bacteria is still in your bed while you're sleeping.
Just to be safe for our breathing and health washing sheets should be a habit every week. Even though its a personal choice on when to wash your sheets, just remember everything you do in your bed to keep as a reminder for washing your sheets weekly. I usually use my sundays as cleaning day where I vacuum, clean and wash. When do you usually clean your home?
