In the words of Carrie Fisher, I don't want my life to imitate art, I want my life to be art.
Happy New Year!
It is 2017, a new year, and the opportunity for a new path. People usually try to say "New Year, New Me," but I think that people should start saying "New Year, I will do something." I always try to do something different but always end up doing the same thing I did the previous year. But, in 2016. I actually changed my way of thinking and decided to actually go through with my decisions.
I moved to New York in 2015, and made the decision to leave in 2016. I did it. I left a lot of old habits and beliefs when the new year came. I think that the best advice I can give would be to stop talking about doing something and actually do it. Planning and doing is the key. People are different based on values, beliefs and actions. But, when we actually make the action happen not just verbally but physicially -- we change the outcome. I believe we are all art. We have a way of painting our canvases and making our outcome different. In some shape or form, we are art and we also create art in everything that we do. We have goals, influence others, have a personality of our own and able to make something of ourselves just like art.
I decided to make a list of goals that I plan on obtaining by the end of 2017. I think the best thing to do for new year events is to set goals that are not too high, obtainable and do not get pushed under the rug super fast. Don't put too much pressure on yourself, and remember you can just set one goal for yourself and that is still amazing.
Goal 1: Go to the gym three times a week.
Goal 2: Use my juicer twice a week.
Goal 3: Do a monthly challenge.
Goal 4: Grow to have 100 blog subscribers and 1,000 followers on Instragram.
Goal 5: Lose 50 pounds.
Goal 6: Keep a routine of doing hair, nails and facials every Sunday.
Goal 7: Read 1 book a month.
Goal 8: Engage in one fun activity a week.
Goal 9: Make an all girls meet-up group in Dallas.
Goal 10: Laugh at least once a day.
These are just 10 out of my 20 goals I plan on obtaining in the year 2017. I believe I can do this consistently. The beginning will always be tough but after I make everything into a habit it should go smoother as the year goes on. What are some of your goals for the new year?
